Privacy Policy
OV Markets is a personal website for portfolio information, market data, charts and tools. Very little visitor data is processed, nothing is sold, and no advertising profile is created.
The portfolio does not set visitor tracking cookies.
No advertising networks or cross-site advertising profiles.
Support actions are counted without identifying who interacted.
What this site does not do
- No visitor account creation, login, or user profiles.
- No forms request visitor names, email addresses, phone numbers, or payment information.
- No cookies are set by this site.
- No advertising networks, remarketing pixels, or cross-site ad tracking.
- No visitor information is sold.
Analytics and support measurements
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous, aggregated page statistics. It is cookieless and may process the page path, referring page, browser, device type, and coarse location. Vercel uses a temporary daily identifier for aggregated visitor counts; OV Markets does not receive a persistent cross-site visitor profile.
The site also keeps seven first-party aggregate interaction totals:
The fixed event names are support_nudge_seen, support_nudge_dismissed, support_nudge_opened, support_opened, etherfi_clicked, tradingview_clicked, and buymeacoffee_clicked.
For these support totals, the browser sends only one fixed event name to this site's own server. The counter does not store a name, email address, cookie, IP address, device information, visitor identifier, destination URL, or per-person history. Counts represent actions, not unique people, and repeated clicks may be counted more than once.
Abuse prevention
Rate-limited market, macro, and administration API requests are protected with short-lived in-process limits and, when configured, Upstash Redis. The server briefly reads the request IP address and converts it into a one-way, daily rotating HMAC identifier before using the identifier for a rate-limit counter. The raw IP address is not used as the Redis key. Counters expire after the applicable request window.
Support-event requests use the same abuse-prevention approach. The server briefly reads the request IP address and derives a one-way, daily rotating HMAC identifier used only for short-lived rate-limit counters. The raw IP address is not stored as the Redis key, and those counters expire according to their request window. The aggregate support totals still contain only counts of the fixed event names: they contain no raw IP address, user agent, cookie, persistent visitor identifier, or per-person history, and no persistent support-event visitor profile is created.
Preferences stored on your device
The site uses your browser's localStorage to remember display preferences such as theme, selected view, sorting, leaderboard scale, and bubble timeframe or density. Your language is not stored: it is determined by the page address you are on. These preferences remain in your browser and are not sent to OV Markets or the analytics provider.
A shared ovcrypto_support_nudge_until expiry value is also stored locally to avoid repeatedly showing the optional support prompt across Portfolio, Macro, Valuation and Cycles. The legacy technical key is intentionally retained so existing visitor preferences survive the rebrand. Dismissing the prompt with “Not now” or the close control suppresses it for 24 hours; opening the support panel, from the prompt or from any support button, suppresses it for 7 days; following one of the panel’s support links (Ether.fi, TradingView or Buy Me a Coffee) suppresses it for 14 days. A shorter period never replaces a longer one already in place. The value is not sent to OV Markets' server and no visitor profile is created from it.
Third-party resources and links
Some site and asset logos are hosted by the third-party image host ibb.co. When your browser requests those images, that host receives normal web-request information such as your IP address. No ibb.co scripts are embedded by this site. Fonts are self-hosted, so font requests stay on the OV Markets domain.
Support and chart links may open Ether.fi, TradingView, Buy Me a Coffee, or another external provider. Those providers receive the normal request when you choose to visit them and apply their own privacy policies. Referral links are clearly disclosed; the Buy Me a Coffee link is direct support, not a referral. Using any of them is optional.
Portfolio, macro, and valuation data
Live prices are fetched by this site's server from Yahoo Finance, Finnhub, CoinGecko, and Twelve Data, then returned to your browser already assembled. U.S. business-cycle observations are likewise requested server-side from public statistical providers such as BLS and, when configured, FRED/ALFRED. Your browser contacts this site's own API rather than receiving provider credentials.
The server-side Valuation API and model perform the valuation calculations and return the historical data and derived results needed by the public interface. The browser renders the chart and lets you interact with those results. No personal information or provider credential is sent for these calculations.
The server-side Cycles API runs the Market Cycles and Shmita models on the S&P 500 history bundled with the site; the most recent months are requested server-side from Yahoo Finance. The browser renders the chart and dashboard from that result. No personal information or provider credential is sent for these calculations.
FRED/ALFRED observations are not stored in OV Markets application-memory, Redis/database, browser, or CDN caches. Other official-source data may use a bounded server cache to respect provider request limits. Macro API responses are marked not to be stored by browsers or shared caches.
The portfolio itself is intentionally public. Average costs, operation dates, tickers, operation types, and recorded entry prices can be viewed, copied, cached, or archived by visitors and third parties. Account ownership, share quantities, wallet addresses, brokerage credentials, and private account records are not published.
